- Carrie Ann Inaba just addressed fan backlash over her Dancing With the Stars scores.
- The longtime judge explained that it's okay to disagree with her, and encouraged fans to vote on the show.
- FYI, Alfonso Ribeiro previously explained how voting works on DWTS.
Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba knows fans are upset about some of her scores this season, and just issued a statement addressing backlash.
After posting an Instagram celebrating this week's special Dedication Night show, Carrie hopped into the comments and responded to several people taking issue with her scores.
"It’s okay to disagree about what we see," she said. "That’s what makes our show great. You have a say in the matter. We want you to vote for what you love and believe in. I appreciate your comment and the way you expressed your feelings. ❤️ thank you for your passion and your opinion."
There's honestly been a lot of drama over scoring this season, to the point where Alfonso Ribeiro had to explain how the whole thing works back in September—when Bruno Tonioli showed a score of seven on his paddle while the screen showed a score of eight.
"Just to clarify something, our judges key in their scores right after the dance and then they are locked regardless of which paddle they hold up," Alfonso said. "We go with their locked score. So Bruno keyed in an 8, so Whitney’s total was 15."
Julianne Hough also emphasized that this is the nature of live TV, saying, "Oh actually, just came through my ear right now, Bruno actually put in an eight, so we have to correct it. It's a 15...We love live television!"
